Ceramic Pro ION

The next evolution of surface protection technology. ION is a two-component coating system that uses ION Exchange Technology to fuse multiple layers into a single durable, robust protected surface.

Elite Dealer Exclusive

Twice the Durability,
Twice the Longevity.

ION uses a proprietary two-part chemistry. The base coat creates an active surface that the topcoat ionically bonds with, producing a single integrated layer — not the multi-layer stack of traditional nano-ceramic coatings.

The result is a coating with roughly twice the durability, integrity, and longevity of traditional nano-ceramic coatings.

Why ION

Engineered Differently

  • 2× the durability of traditional ceramic coatings
  • Single integrated layer (no inter-layer weak points)
  • Higher hardness rating — better swirl resistance
  • Superior hydrophobic performance
  • UV and chemical-etch resistant

The Science

How ION Exchange Technology Works

ION Exchange is the same chemical-strengthening principle used to temper the ultra-hard glass on modern smartphones — the process swaps smaller ions in a material for larger ones, collapsing the free space between molecules and dramatically increasing density and hardness. Ceramic Pro is the first to bring that chemistry to automotive nano-ceramic coatings. Installation is a precise two-stage process:

Stage 01 · Base Coat

A Permanent Foundation

Ceramic Pro ION Base is applied first and forms a permanent bond with your clear coat, filling the microscopic imperfections in factory paint. This layer builds the thickness that drives the coating's resistance to oxidation, corrosion, UV, and abrasion — the structural backbone of the system.

Stage 02 · Top Coat

The ION Exchange Reaction

Once the base cures, ION Top Coat is applied — and the exchange begins. Larger ions in the top coat replace the smaller ions in the base, reducing the free space between molecules and fusing both coats into one dense, integrated layer. This is what locks in the slick hydrophobics and chemical resistance.

All Ceramic Pro ION products are independently tested and certified by SGS.
ION vs. Traditional

Why It Outperforms 9H

Ceramic Pro's original 9H coating set the standard by stacking multiple thin layers on top of each other. ION rethinks that entirely — fusing the system into a single, denser layer with no inter-layer weak points.

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes Ceramic Pro ION different from a standard ceramic coating?

ION uses a two-component ION Exchange chemistry. The base coat creates an active surface that the topcoat ionically bonds with, fusing into a single integrated layer rather than the multi-layer stack of traditional nano-ceramic coatings. The result is roughly twice the durability, integrity, and longevity, with no inter-layer weak points.

How long does Ceramic Pro ION last?

Ceramic Pro ION is an Elite Dealer–exclusive coating backed by a lifetime warranty when installed and maintained per Ceramic Pro guidelines. Its single integrated layer is engineered for roughly twice the durability of traditional nano-ceramic coatings.

Is Ceramic Pro ION documented on Carfax?

Yes. Ceramic Pro ION is reported through the Carfax Appearance Protection Service, so the coating appears on your vehicle’s Carfax history report — helping demonstrate the vehicle has been protected and supporting resale value.

Where can I get Ceramic Pro ION installed near Kansas City?

Ceramic Pro ION is an Elite Dealer exclusive. Ceramic Pro Fuel House is a certified Elite Dealer at 611 W 2nd St, Bonner Springs, KS 66012, serving the entire Kansas City metro including Overland Park, Shawnee, Lenexa, and Leawood. Call 913-393-9727 for a free quote.

Does my vehicle need paint correction before ION?

In most cases, yes. Because a coating locks in the condition of your paint, we decontaminate and machine-polish to remove swirls and oxidation first, so ION bonds to clean, defect-free paint. We assess your paint and confirm any correction needed at quote.
