you work in.
What can commercial window film do for your building?
South- and west-facing glass can push interior temperatures 10–15°F above the rest of a building on a Kansas summer afternoon. Solar Gard films reject up to 79% of total solar energy at the glass, so HVAC runtime drops and the hot spots near the windows disappear.
Staff get glare-free screens, merchandise and flooring are protected by 99% UV rejection, and one film across the building gives the exterior a clean, uniform look.

Even temperatures.
Lower HVAC load.
South- and west-facing windows can drive interior temperatures 10–15°F higher than the rest of the building during a Kansas summer afternoon — forcing your HVAC to fight the sun on every cycle.
Solar Gard architectural films reject up to 79% of total solar energy at the glass before it ever enters the room. HVAC runtime drops, hot spots disappear, and the AC stops cycling all afternoon.
*On west- and south-facing exposures. Actual savings depend on building, glazing, and HVAC.

Is window film better than blinds or shades for an office?
Blinds only work when they’re closed, which means staff lose the daylight and the view. Film rejects heat, glare, and UV at the glass all day, so blinds can stay open and the space still stays comfortable.
Blinds & Curtains
- Block the view to block heat
- Heat already through the glass
- Manual / motorized to operate
- Limited UV protection
- Dust, allergens, replacement cycle
Architectural Film
- Keep the view & daylight
- Block heat at the glass
- Set-and-forget — works 24/7
- 99% UV / fade protection
- Decades of service life

Commercial Window Film FAQs
How much does commercial window film cost per square foot?
Commercial pricing varies by film type, total square footage, and how hard the glass is to reach. There’s no minimum or upcharge; we measure on site and give you a free written quote.
Do you work after hours or on weekends?
Commercial jobs are scheduled around your business. Larger office projects are usually done after hours so they don’t disrupt operations. Tell us your hours and we’ll plan around them.
Will film affect my building’s warranty?
We check every glass type before recommending a film, including single pane, dual pane, Low-E, tempered, and laminated, and only install a film Solar Gard warrants for that glass.
How much energy can window film save?
On west- and south-facing exposures in the Kansas City climate, a typical solar-control retrofit drops cooling load on those windows by 50–70%. That’s roughly a 25–35% drop in summer cooling costs for the affected spaces. Actual savings depend on the building, glazing, and HVAC.
Can you match film across multiple buildings or suites?
Yes. We can spec the same Solar Gard film and shade across every suite or building so the exterior looks uniform from the street.
Do you provide documentation for property managers?
Yes. You get a written quote up front and Solar Gard warranty documentation when the job is done, for your building files.
How long does commercial film last?
Architectural film is built for decades of service. Commercial and storefront installs carry Solar Gard’s 15-year manufacturer warranty against bubbling, peeling, cracking, delamination, and color shift.
